Viola! Fixed. I removed the 8GB Sandisk Ultra II SD card from my Nikon D90 DSLR camera after an afternoons outdoor shooting, downloaded the photos to my PC and put the SD card back in the camera, which then displayed Err and e errors and the card wouldn't go all the way down in the SD slot of the camera, popped right up if pushed down.
A: The D3100 has more movie options than the D5000, 1920 x 1080 (24p) for the D3100 vs 1,280 x 720/24 fps for the D5000. The D3100 has a 3" LCD screen vs the 2.7" screen of the D5000. The D3100 is also compatible with SDXC and SDHC memory cards, the D5000 only uses SDHC.
i button: Press the button to access the display control strip, highlight one of the two options, and then press OK to view the screen where you can select the setting you want to use. The left side of the display shows the file size that will result from your selected setting along with the number of pictures that will fit on the memory card
It's the only way you'll get fps that match Nikon's D7100 factory spec's listed in the chart on p. 348 of the user manual. Yes, buffer capacity definitely goes up tremendously, if you shoot smaller, jpg files. The speed of the card does not matter until the data starts to transfer.
